2010 Officers of the Year

Enforcement 2010 Officer of the Year
Deputy Madeline Pinckney serves in the Sheriff's Office Enforcement Division-Court Services. She joined the Chatham County Sheriff's Office in 2009.  Pinckney has a Bachelor's of Business Administration degree from Georgia Southern University and has completed graduate studies at Savannah State University. She began her career with the Savannah Police Department in 1986 and received several Certificate of Merit awards.  She was attached to the Department of Justice as a task force officer in organized crime and received the Meritorious Service award twice. She also served as a captain in the Memorial Health police department from 2005-2007.

Corrections 2010 Officer of the Year
Cpl. Johnny Webb is the supervisor of the property room of the Receiving & Discharge Unit. Webb has worked in law enforcement for 15 years. Webb joined the Chatham County Sheriff's Office in 1998, prior to that he worked at the Ridgeland Correctional Institution in South Carolina.   He served in the U.S. Army and is an Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm veteran.  Webb said, "I feel I have grown as an officer.  I am so grateful for my supervisors who have had faith in me and have taken time and shared guidance to help me serve our public to the best of my ability."

2010 Civilians of the Year

Enforcement 2010 Civilian of the Year
Stephanie King is an Administrative Assistant IIII and works for the Undersheriff.  King has been with the Chatham County Sheriff's Office for 17 years.  King said, "I have been fortunate to work with amazing people.  I am a firm believer in helping others.  If I can help you in any way, I will.  My motto is "do your job and go home."   I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Sheriff, Undersheriff, Gretchen, Janell, Diane and Ms. Beverly for making my job easier."

Corrections 2010 Civilian of the Year
Jennifer James-Smith is an Administrative Assistant I in the Corrections Bureau of the Chatham County Sheriff's Office.  She joined the department in 2006, working first in the Records Department.  Smith graduated in 2006 from Savannah Technical College with an Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice.  She also has a diploma from Savannah Tech in Computer Operations.  Smith said, "I would like to thank my husband, my mother, Mrs. Parker and Mrs. Thompson, the majors, captains the Colonel and the Sheriff for inspiring me and pushing me to succeed and to never give up."
